Examining Christian Responses to Gender-Based Violence: Crum Lecture 2024 Insights by Dr. Meredith Whitnah
On Thursday, April 11, Gordon College hosted its annual Crum Lecture, a 30-year legacy event in honor the late Professor Terrelle B. Crum, who was the dean of Barrington College before it merged with Gordon in 1985. This year Whitnah presented the lecture, “Faith and the Fragility of Justice: Religious Responses to Gender-Based Violence in South Africa.”

Economics as a Moral Science: Dr. Jeffrey T. Young's Franz Lecture Highlights
On Thursday, March 14, Gordon College hosted its annual Franz Lecture, a legacy event that’s been happening for over 30 years in honor of the late Professor David Franz, a visionary who helped shape the social sciences at Gordon. This year Young presented the lecture, based on his newly published book "Adam Smith’s Theory of Value and Distribution: Economics as a Moral Science Once Again."

The Power of Gratitude: Dr. Ivy George's Vision for a United Society
On January 23 Gordon’s Center for Faith and Inquiry (CFI) hosted its first event of the semester on its year long theme of "The one and the many.” Ivy George, professor of sociology, explained in her talk, “Oneing and Hospitality” the beginnings of a new project that examines the Christian’s role of hospitality in restoring our country to peace and unity through the concept of “oneing.” To restore our relationships with each other, we first need to restore our relationship with God and our posture towards gratitude and wonder.
