IES - Seoul

Overview

Gordon College has partnered with IES Abroad, a leading nonprofit study abroad organization, to offer students the opportunity to study in Seoul, South Korea—one of the world’s most vibrant and exciting cities. Through this program, students take courses at either Yonsei University or Korea University, two of South Korea’s most prestigious institutions known for their academic excellence.

With more than 75 years of experience, IES Abroad provides comprehensive support to help students thrive abroad. This includes housing, pre-departure guidance, on-site orientation, organized field trips, and extensive health and safety resources—so you can focus on learning and experiencing life in a new culture.

Seoul itself is an unforgettable place to study. A dynamic global city where ancient traditions meet cutting-edge innovation, Seoul was ranked the #3 Best Student City in the world by the QS World University Rankings® 2025. From a true 24/7 culture and late-night cafés to 115 museums and an ultra-efficient subway and bus system, the city offers endless opportunities to explore. With nearly 10 million residents, Seoul is always buzzing—and always welcoming.

Note: Due to the rigorous academic expectations of the host universities, students must have a minimum GPA of 3.7 to apply.

Yonsei University and Korea University offer a wide selection of courses, with 500+ classes taught in English at each institution. Students should review the universities’ academic listings to identify potential courses, then consult with their academic advisor to confirm fit and approval.
