Learn more about Music at Gordon
Your daily musical life will be enriched by Gordon’s strong liberal arts tradition and a connected community of faculty and fellow students who live at the intersection of art and faith. You will be motivated and stretched in the practice room, the classroom and on stage to develop your gifts to their fullest. You will be encouraged to think critically and creatively about your music-making and why it matters.
Your musical family will be there to support you, inspire you, and share in a wide variety of experiences, from weekly Musicianship classes to world-class recitals in Phillips Recital Hall. Faculty members will mentor and nurture you, making that individual investment in you so you may blossom to fulfill God’s gifting. You will also be just around the corner from the concert halls of Boston, one of the great musical cities of the world.
Your musical future is being shaped daily. The depth and breadth of your education at Gordon will prepare you for what lies ahead. The maturity, grounded in faith, that our graduates carry into the world has helped them succeed as highly respected music educators for tomorrow’s musicians, teachers of applied studios, performers in orchestras, opera singers, and in careers as varied as worship ministry, arts administration and music therapy.
