Sports Media

Overview

Sports journalism is the perfect combination of two prestigious fields of study: athletics and media creation. Gordon College’s sports media minor will provide you with a strong foundation in the principles of sports storytelling, media and communication. This program prepares students to succeed in fields related to sports media, including journalism, broadcasting, public relations, team relations and marketing.

Why study sports media at Gordon?

In addition to our accomplished faculty, with years of business and communications experience, Gordon is a unique setting to fuse your passion for sports, faith and media.

Home to over 20 varsity teams, Gordon is an NCAA Division III school with a thriving and dynamic athletic community. Help shape sports-driven conversations on campus in real-time by contributing to the Tartan or working for Gordon Athletics. Our location to Boston means we're surrounded by some of the nation’s top sports teams, helping you make connections to professional teams throughout New England.

What can Christians bring to sports media?

Sports is a way to entertain, address societal issues and build community pride. Christ-focused, sports-loving journalists can take pleasure in sharing the passions of others through media. Sports storytellers engage the personhood behind every story, fan and team.
