THE DEPARTMENT OF ART

Art majors can expect to:

  • Be presented with the visual and theoretical range of perspectives in art history from ancient to postmodern.
  • Attend Periodic field trips to Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and many other world-class art museums and galleries.
  • Choose an area of concentration in art by your junior year:
          *   Design

            Sculpture
          *   Art Education
  • Mount a thesis exhibit in your senior year

FACULTY
Art faculty members are professionals in each of their specialty areas. They are artists who teach the very media they practice; including painting, printmaking, sculpture, photography and design.

  • Faculty members exhibit their work nationally and internationally from New York and Boston to St. Petersburg, Russia and Florence, Italy.
  • Their works reside in many national and international collections.
  • Each is a member of CIVA (Christians in the Visual Arts), and the College is a member of CAA (College Art Assoc.)

FURTHER STUDY
If you choose to pursue further study in more specialized areas of design, art history, art therapy or any medium area, whether two or three-dimensionally oriented, we offer:

  • Graduate school advisement
  • Portfolio preparations and recommendations for submitting art work to galleries
  • Internships in galleries, museums and professional design studios

Many of our Art majors are also education majors, and directly communicate to their students the concepts, methods and other various ways of seeing.
