WENHAM, MA-Mia Chung and Alina Polyakov will perform a duo piano recital on Friday, December 14, at Phillips Recital Hall on the campus of Gordon College. The free performance will begin at 8:00 p.m. and will include works by Mozart, Milhaud and Rachmaninov. This will be a different program than the one they recently performed at Gordon College in November.

Mia Chung has ascended to the highest ranks of America's young pianists. Described as "uncommonly insightful, individualistic and lively" by The New York Times, Ms. Chung has enjoyed great success as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. In 1993 she won the Concert Artists Guild Competition, and in 1997 she received the Avery Fisher Career Grant, the highest recognition for young concert artists in the United States. Ms. Chung graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, received a master's degree from Yale University and a doctorate from the Julliard School. She has performed extensively throughout the United States and the world. Currently she is artist-in-residence and professor of music at Gordon College.

Alina Polyakov immigrated to the United States in 1989, and since then has been on the faculty of Gordon College, Atlantic Union College and the Boston Conservatory. She has performed throughout the former Soviet Union, Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States. Her performances have been aired throughout metropolitan Boston on WGBH Radio 89.7 and WHDH-TV. Her festival solo appearances include the Pushkin Festival in Scotland at the Tron Theatre. She is also a member of the Rachmaninov Trio, which has performed at such venues as Hutchenson's Hall, the Royal Academy of Music and St. Andrews University.

This event is free and open to the public. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. For information other upcoming concerts at Gordon, visit www.gordon.edu/musicevents
