Welcome Home: Full Circle

By Jan Carlberg

Recently I reread Jud’s inaugural address from March of 1993, “Welcome Home.” Quoting Jeremiah 29:11, he said Gordon would always be a place of hope: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.”

The same God who brought us here 35 years ago goes with us on the next phase of this adventure called life.

As we go we will be taking so many memories of you with us and leaving at least part of our hearts behind. Like the Class of 2011 and like generations of Gordon graduates before them, we are going out into the world with a blank slate, asking God to fill in the details. As we leave, it is comforting to know that, all in good time, we can come back to visit, hoping to reconnect with many of you.
