WENHAM, MA - The La Vida Adventure Camp, a day camp at Gordon College that seeks to build character, a positive self-identity and a commitment to serve and care for others, is now accepting applications for their summer adventure camp program. Trained, caring staff lead small groups in team building and adventure activities such as rock climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking and a high ropes course. La Vida Adventure Camp has been voted "Best Summer Camp" and a "North of Boston Favorite" by Community Newspaper Company's (CNC) Readership in years past.

La Vida Adventure Camp has a number of programs for different age groups: an 11-13-year-old program that focuses on team building and adventure activities on Gordon College's campus; a 14-15-year-old program that does more extensive adventure activities on and off campus with an overnight stay at a ropes course; a 15-18-year-old Adirondack Leadership Program (ALP) that helps high school students develop their leadership potential through adventure. Participants of ALP go on an extended canoeing expedition that includes team building, rock climbing, hiking and canoeing in the Adirondack State Park, and have the chance to practice and learn as leaders in a supportive group environment. La Vida also has a junior counselor program for 16-18-year-old former campers who would like to come back and serve.

Parents who have sent their children to this summer camp comment:

"My daughter raves about the activities, staff and group members all year!"

"My son says camp was 'awesome.' His experience boosted my son's self-confidence. He loved the challenges, and, as a parent, I appreciate the safe environment."

"My daughter regularly displays lessons learned during camp throughout the school year. Her teachers have commented on positive attributes she possesses, and I'm sure La Vida has had a part in this!"

For over 38 years the La Vida Center for Outdoor Education has provided adventure-based experiential education. La Vida Adventure Camp takes place on Gordon College's campus with several hundred acres filled with ponds, trails and rolling hills as well as a low and high ropes course. "It's the best camp I've ever been to," says one camper.
