"As a fellow member of the class of '53, I appreciated Don Baron's article on Professor Matheson. I was in the Gordon tour choir as well, and the joy and influence of music has been a part of my life ever since. Prof. Matheson brought life and inspiration to the music.

"At age 88, I am now retired after serving as a pastor in churches in Arizona, southern, central, and northern California, as well as a Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of California. I have been a barbershop harmony singer in quartets and choruses for 30 years. Moreover, when we sing the "Hallelujah Chorus" in our church choir, I remember and treasure the lasting influence of music and dedicated Christian education I received at Gordon College. I have fond memories of my four years at Gordon in general, and keep the College and its mission in my prayers. 

"I married '55 class member Marjorie Hodgson right after my graduation, and we just celebrated our 59th wedding anniversary."
