Gordon College is committed to the residential college experience. We believe that living in community in a residence hall can be one of the most transformative aspects of your college experience. You have the opportunity to develop relationships, learn from those who are different from you and integrate your faith and your learning in the classroom with your everyday experiences.
The Residence Life staff consists of Resident Directors, Resident Advisors, and Apartment Coordinators seeking to glorify God through the cultivation of an intentional Christian community. Our staff serves as stewards of God's kingdom work of building community, while recognizing that relationships can be messy and living in community is hard work. Because we understand that community is ultimately God's work, we intentionally center our program on the gospel of Jesus Christ. We desire to glorify God, reflecting His truth, beauty, goodness, and love in all our relationships, programs and services.
To carry out our mission we focus on three program goals: grow, experience and serve. We desire to help students grow in their understanding of the gospel, their identity, and vocation. We want students to experience community by developing relationships, living authentically, acquiring practical skills, appreciating diversity and cultivating character. Finally, we desire that students learn how to faithfully serve their neighbor, their community, and the world. Grow. Experience. Serve.
I invite you to invest in this community and allow it to shape who you are as we seek Christ together.
In Christ,
Jeff Carpenter
Assistant Dean of Student Life
