Medication Policies
Controlled Substances & Prescribing Policy
Students are responsible for the safety and security of their prescribed medications. Controlled substances must be kept in a locked box, and must be accessible only to the patient to whom the medication is prescribed.
The Gordon College Health Center does not currently prescribe medication*. Over the counter medication is given at the discretion of Health Center staff. Over the counter medication available at the Health Center may include:
- Tylenol, ibuprofen
- Allergy medications
- Wound wash
- Artificial tears
- Mucinex
- Cough drops
*Students with a counselor referral may request a behavioral health medication evaluation with our nurse practitioner/behavioral health provider. Behavioral health medications may be prescribed at the discretion of the provider.

The on-campus Health Center is closed during school breaks and summer.
