Theatre Experience Days are a fantastic opportunity for all high school theatre students - actors, directors, designers and playwrights - to spend a day with Gordon Theatre Arts faculty and students, observing and participating in workshops and performances.
Enjoy a matinee performance at the Barrington Center for the Arts and experience the quality and power of our theatre productions. Gordon College's theatre has been named among the “Top 20 Best College Theatres” in America by The Princeton Review, ranking 18th among many larger and more prominent peer schools such as Brown, Williams and Columbia.
Whether you want to pursue a theatre major in college or just want to discover ways to continue in the performing arts during your college career, this is your chance to jump in and experience it now. You will learn firsthand just how exciting, inspiring and rewarding the theatre arts program at Gordon can be for you!

Not So Faust!
A new comedic adaptation of Goethe’s Faust and Marlowe’s Doctor Faustus

Perhaps you are familiar with Goethe or Marlowe's tales of "Faust," both brooding epics of a scholar who sells his soul to the devil in exchange for knowledge. As the title suggests, this version is "Not So Faust!". The beginning resembles the famous plays but quickly dissolves into delightful chaos. Jill Rogati (who also directs) revisits the original story in the style of Commedia dell'arte - a traditional Italian form of theatre that uses masks, physical comedy, and playful improvisation to make a solemn subject incredibly silly. While philosophy and stern contemplation of the complex nature of humanity certainly have a place, "Not So Faust!" seeks to show that loosening our belts and laughing at ourselves is just what the Doctor ordered.

Young and impulsive, Natasha Rostova arrives in Moscow to await the return of her fiancé from the front lines of the war with Napoleon. When she falls under the spell of the roguish Anatole Kuragin, it is up to Pierre Bezukhov, a family friend in the middle of an existential crisis, to pick up the pieces of her shattered reputation. This critically acclaimed and award-winning musical expands the possibilities for the genre with its daring score and bold storytelling.
