Jennifer Brink
Director of Academic Advising and First-Year Experience
Jennifer has enjoyed many years working with college students, in residence life, service learning, first-year experience and advising. She completed her graduate work in Educational Psychology at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is particularly interested in questions of vocation and calling and enjoys helping students make connections as they explore the liberal arts from a Christian perspective. She has also served as an adjunct faculty at Gordon College since 2006, teaching the first-year seminar in the core curriculum (The Great Conversation).
Academic Advisors
Your Academic Advisor is here to collaborate with you to work out your academic goals and develop your educational plans. All students will be assigned an advisor in their area of study.
Although students are personally responsible for planning out their academic program to meet all graduation requirements, the advisor is there to help students make meaningful choices. It’s in these advising relationships that students can explore more fully their vocational hopes and consider their life direction, along with sorting out what core and major courses to take in the next semester.
Advisors are available to meet during their regularly scheduled weekly office hours and during specific advising seasons each semester.
Peer Advisors
Sometimes it’s helpful to talk to another student who is also navigating the academic planning process. Peer advising is available for one-on-one meetings to map out your academic plan and address your questions.
