Changing Your Major

Major Changes Don’t Have To Be Major

Making changes to your major and minor can be a very easy process. Many students change their major at Gordon once they have a better idea of their interests and abilities. You can deepen your educational plan by taking the time to consider additional majors or minors. Many majors also have concentrations that offer additional courses in specific topics within the major.  You can also consider newly developed majors, minors, and concentrations, depending on your situation.

How do I declare a major, minor or concentration?
  1. Meet with your current advisor to talk about the options of transitioning to the new major.
  2. Meet with a faculty member of the new major to discuss your plans.
  3. Meet with your new advisor to introduce yourself and discuss your academic goals.
  4. Complete the Major or Minor Declaration form on my.gordon.edu > academics > registration forms.
  5. Your advising worksheet on my.gordon.edu will be updated with the course requirements for your new major.
