Transferring Credits

Input your courses into Transferology to learn how your credits can transfer to Gordon! If you click ‘Request Information,’ we’ll send your courses to our Registrar to be fully evaluated.

Massachusetts Transfer Guarantee Program

Good news. If you're a student studying or planning to study at a Massachusetts community college, you are guaranteed credit when transferring to Gordon College. All you need is a minimum GPA of 2.5, an associate degree from a Massachusetts community college, and a plan to major in any one of our B.A. degrees or B.S. degrees. At Gordon, we value that as a transfer you have already been a hard-working college student prior to submitting an application to us. We understand that evaluating the courses you intend to transfer is one of the most important pieces of your college decision. When a transfer student has been offered acceptance to Gordon College, we request a Transfer Evaluation to be completed by our Registrar’s Office. We intend for you to receive your evaluation before making a final college choice.

Acclimation to Gordon

As you plan your transition to Gordon we feel strongly that it needs to be a smooth one, which is why we’ve designed a special track in Orientation just for our transfer students. You are placed in an Orientation Crew (O-Crew) made up of 10-12 transfers. From there you’ll be able to start building community and connecting with students who have similar experiences to you.

We know that your housing experience is important to you. It’s where you come home at the end of the day! As a transfer student, you will be placed with another transfer or returning student at Gordon. If you are 20 years old or an incoming junior you can request apartment-style housing.

The area where Gordon is located couldn’t be better. We’re 25 miles from the thriving, academic downtown of Boston, 3 miles from the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean and situated on 450 acres of beautiful New England forests. We encourage you to look at the area guide but we would love for you to come and see it for yourself!

If you’ve taken any college credits after graduating high school, you’ll want to apply as a transfer student!

We want to make sure Gordon is as affordable as possible for our students. Transfer students are automatically awarded a merit scholarship ranging from $10,000 to $14,000 per year. Transfers also qualify for additional scholarships through music and fine arts, church matching, and more. You can check out our aid opportunities and Transfer Scholarship Calculator here →

Typically, 60 credits from a community or two-year college, or 60-90 credits from a combination of two and four-year institutions may be applied towards the Gordon College degree.

The TVF is the only extra requirement for transfer applicants. This form includes three simple questions to be filled out by a Dean of Students or other college officials who can verify that a transfer applicant is in good academic and disciplinary standing with the sending school. If you have any difficulty getting this form completed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Admissions Office.

Yes! Spring transfers are absolutely welcome on a rolling admission basis. When you’ve finished your application, you can expect a decision back in less than two weeks.
