Program Details & FAQ

Modern culture demands we be consumers of our education. What if, instead, we became cultivators of it? Imagine reciting poetry on Singing Beach, sailing in the historic Gloucester Harbor and gardening at Cider Hill Farm. This summer, we invite you to Heritage to embrace a vision that celebrates the fullness of life, engaging our hands and challenging our heads as we shape our hearts.

Program Dates

Students will move into Chase Hall on Sunday afternoon. The program will run from July 28-August 2. Students will be picked up on Friday evening or fly out Saturday morning. If special circumstances arise, please feel free to contact us.

Program Location

Most of the program will be held on Gordon College's campus, located 25 miles north of Boston. Students will live in suite-style dorms on the main campus and enjoy a taste of college living. Chapel, dining hall, residence halls, explore all of campus in a scavenger hunt, solo times in various places around campus. 

Program Cost

The cost for Heritage 2024 is $1300.  

The total cost of the program covers:

  • Housing on campus
  • 3 meals/day
  • 4 college credits at a 70% discount 
  • Cultural excursions into Boston and the North Shore
  • Transportation to/from Logan International Airport
  • Program materials

Scholarships and financial assistance are available to students on a case-by-case basis. Please reach out to us for additional information. 

Transportation

  • Local: Students living in the greater Boston area will be dropped off on Gordon's campus Sunday afternoon. Parking is available in the chapel lot in front of Chase Hall. Please consult the campus map for details. 
  • National: Students flying into Boston (Logan International Airport) will be picked up from the airport by a member of the Heritage Staff. Shuttles will run throughout the afternoon and early evening.

Medical and Dietary Restrictions

Gordon College Dining Services is able to meet any dietary restrictions you might have. During the registration process, students will notify the college of any dietary needs or allergies for accommodation. Any student medication will be administered by certified staff. In the case of an emergency, the college will have a nurse on call during the week.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Do I receive college credit? Yes! Heritage is an accredited program through Gordon College that encompasses a 4-credit class. Students should plan for two weeks of pre-reading material and a follow-up assignment in addition to the seminars planned during the week of residence. Official class transcripts will be emailed to students and parents following the program. 
     
  • What will the schedule look like during the week? Each day will begin with Morning Assembly, a gathering where we devote the beginning of our day to the study of God's Word and worship in community. Morning sessions will focus on faculty seminars and afternoons will be dedicated to illustrating the day's teaching through cultural excursions into Boston or around the North Shore. Evenings will be spent in small group cooking sessions, times of fellowship and devotion. 

  • How much does Heritage cost? The total cost of the program is $1300. If the cost is a financial challenge for your family, please reach out to us about scholarship opportunities. 

  • How long is Heritage? Students arrive on campus Sunday afternoon, July 28 and depart August 2. The pre-reading for the course will begin a month before the program. 

  • How do I arrange transportation to/from Heritage? Heritage staff will provide transportation to and from the airport. Please email all flight information to [email protected].

  • If I'm planning to fly in, which airport should I fly into and what time should I plan my flights to arrive and depart? All students should fly into Logan International Airport in Boston (BOS). Please select flights that will arrive at the airport between 12-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, and that will depart from Logan on Friday August 2nd any time after 6 p.m. or Saturday morning (Please note, you will miss an important part of the program if your flight leaves earlier than this so plan accordingly!)
