A one-week summer residency at Gordon College for high schoolers
Discover a heritage.
Come do life alongside a cohort of new friends from around the globe, reflecting together on your place in the larger story of God's faithfulness to God’s people—your "heritage." Consider our shared inheritance in morning sessions on Scripture and trade stories from your own experience as we explore Boston’s historic cobblestones.
Create habits.
Engage in practices from a variety of church expressions that increase our capacity for creativity and play—as G.K. Chesterton puts it, giving “room for good things to run wild.” Explore your God-given authority to create in faculty workshops on architecture or public story and evening cooking classes in the Gordon College kitchen.
Experience hope.
Renew your imagination for what an abundant life could look like. Delight in not just a head knowledge of God’s goodness, but embodied experiences of it—taste and see God’s faithfulness in hearty meals, honest conversations with your small group, and communal living on a college campus.
Heritage at Gordon College
Why Join us at Heritage?
You were created to rejoice.
To delight in the goodness of God. To participate in the creation of beautiful things. To laugh. To dance. To be so filled with the presence and praise of Jesus that you can’t help but overflow with kindness to the people around you.
But so many things stifle our rejoicing...
Busyness. Numbness. Others’ expectations. The reality of pain.
What if those things didn’t define you? What if you were given the tools to shake off anxiety and apathy? What if you were freed to wonder and create and feast?
Enter Heritage.
Rhythms of Renewal
In a one-week residency this summer, Heritage offers an embodied, daily-habits-focused experience of a rejoicing life.
This tight-knit community commits to living on campus and practicing these daily rhythms of rejoicing:
- Laughter-filled conversations over breakfasts and lunches
- Morning Assemblies tracing God’s faithfulness to His people in Scripture
- Faculty workshops that provide hands-on lessons in the creative arts
- Excursions that reveal God’s beauty in beaches, cities, and farms alike
- Solo reflection time to rest in the peace of a gentle God
- Evening cooking classes as an exercise of hospitality
- Small group time to process and encourage one another

"Sometimes we think that to find God we have to do something big or grand! But God appears in the meek and lowly. He appears in just the habits we do in our daily lives.”

“This past week has been one of the greatest I have ever experienced in my entire life. Not only was I surrounded by amazing teens and leaders, but the lessons that were taught, the workshops that encouraged us to look closer at God’s creation, and the counselors that led us through the steps to recognize the Lord's plan for each of us were just so incredible … I would gladly do it again.”

“Heritage redefined my definition of community and how I want to and need to participate in it … As the week progressed, it was like we, the students, had grown up together. We all connected on such a deep level, having conversations about faith, life, and our passions, that age difference or distance didn’t matter."
