Ensemble Scholarship Auditions

Apply for an Ensemble Scholarship

Scholarships for ensemble participation are awarded to students who are not music majors or minors. These are awarded to eligible students who demonstrate musical proficiency, and a desire to participate in Department of Music ensembles during their time as a Gordon College student.

Live auditions are strongly recommended for all applicants. Zoom audition dates are available for international students or by petition. Recorded auditions are only accepted from students who are unable to attend any of the live or Zoom audition dates.

Deadline

Students must apply to the Department of Music by March 15, 2022 to be eligible for an ensemble participation scholarship. Auditions run from November to April.

About your Audition

Your audition is 5 minutes in length. An accompanist is not required. For the audition, students are asked to prepare one selection that best demonstrates current performance level on their primary instrument. 

Recommended selection for Ensemble scholarship auditions

Choirs
Please choose a single work that shows your abilities best. We recommend a folk song, art song, music theatre piece, or hymn arrangement.

Instrumental Ensembles 
Please choose a single work that shows your abilities best. We recommend a solo piece, movement of a work (concerto, sonata, etc.), etude, or orchestral/band excerpt.
