Scholarships for ensemble participation are awarded to students who are not music majors or minors. These are awarded to eligible students who demonstrate musical proficiency and a desire to participate in Department of Music ensembles during their time as a Gordon College student.
Schedule your audition
Live and Zoom auditions are strongly recommended for all applicants. Recorded auditions are only accepted by students who are unable to attend any of the live or Zoom audition dates.
Fill out the online application and choose your preferred audition date.
You should only apply for this scholarship if you do NOT intend to be a music major or minor! Before applying for any music audition, you must be accepted to Gordon College. Gordon College admissions application →
Audition Dates for Fall 2024 enrollment will be published in August
Your audition is five minutes in length. An accompanist is not required. For the audition, students are asked to prepare one selection that best demonstrates the current performance level on their primary instrument.
Choirs
Please choose a single work that shows your abilities best. We recommend a folk song, art song, music theatre piece or hymn arrangement.
Instrumental Ensembles
Please choose a single work that shows your abilities best. We recommend a solo piece, movement of work (concerto, sonata, etc.), etude or orchestral/band excerpt.
For questions on appropriate audition repertoire, please contact the Department of Music.
Note: This audition is not for a specific ensemble, but only to be considered for an ensemble participation scholarship. Auditions for ensemble placements are held during fall Orientation.
Submit a Recorded Video Audition
Important! Before submitting any recorded music audition, you must be accepted to Gordon College. Gordon College admissions application →
Live and Zoom auditions are strongly recommended for all applicants. Zoom auditions are an excellent option for international applicants or by petition. However, in cases where distance, time differences or technical challenges complicate Live or Zoom auditions, or if there are no more Live/Zoom audition dates are available, recorded video auditions are acceptable.
DVDs, CDs, YouTube links and other forms of media will not be reviewed. Video recordings must be digitally submitted using the GET ACCEPTED platform.
For further instructions follow the procedure outlined in the document below called "Recorded Audition Procedures."
Students must apply to the Department of Music by March 31, 2024, to be eligible for an ensemble participation scholarship.
If you have any questions, please contact the Department of Music.
