Lauren Becker

Directing the Health Center is Lauren’s second role at Gordon College, as she previously served in the chapel office as Associate Dean for Spiritual Formation and Adjunct Professor. After earning her BSN and becoming a Registered Nurse, Lauren worked at Boston Children’s Hospital in the Cardiac ICU where she cared for infants and children with congenital cardiac defects in the pre and post-operative period. She then returned to Gordon College to direct the Health Center, a role which beautifully combines her professional experience in psychology, mental health counseling, spiritual formation and nursing.

Lauren enjoys working with college students, as young adulthood often brings rapid growth in individuation and identity formation. She is an advocate of students learning how to care for their bodies and their minds, and developing healthy self-care practices. Lauren and her husband have a daughter and three sons, an old house and an endless list of projects. They find joy in it all.
