Bio

John Mirisola's main literary focus is contemporary fiction, with a special interest in narrative forms that allow readers to see across irreconcilable differences and competing versions of reality. His novel-in-progress explores these themes in depth. His book reviews and interviews have been published in the Los Angeles Review of Books, Zyzzyva, and The Millions, and he has cowritten and produced two plays with the North Shore stage company The 5th Wall. John also has more than 10 years of experience in nonprofit and arts marketing and communications, serving as a magazine editor, podcast producer, content strategist, and writer. He is excited to help students connect their training as readers, writers, and thinkers to a variety of professional contexts. John holds an M.F.A. from the University of California, Riverside, and a B.A. from Gordon College, where he has taught since 2017.
