Bio

Dr. Erica Oldaker has been drawn to mathematics her entire life. Her fascination with how mathematics can be used to describe the natural world led her to pursue a Ph.D. at Baylor University with an emphasis in mathematical physics, her primary area of expertise. She believes that mathematics is the language with which God wrote the universe, and she aims to cultivate fluency in that language in her students.

Dr. Oldaker is passionate about mathematics education at all levels, and the courses she teaches at Gordon reflect that. She currently teaches the math content course for elementary education majors, several upper-level electives for mathematics majors, such as Real Analysis and Graph Theory, and many courses in between.
