Bio
Dr. Doreen Mazzye serves as the inaugural Director of the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in the Science of Learning and Associate Dean in the Herschend School of Education at Gordon College. She earned her Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, and the Science of Learning from the University at Buffalo, her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Gordon College, and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the State University of New York at Oswego. Prior to joining Gordon, she served for 15 years as a literacy faculty member at the State University of New York at Oswego, where she prepared undergraduate and graduate educators and led school-university partnerships. Dr. Mazzye is a founding board member of The Reading League and has contributed to state and national initiatives advancing evidence-based literacy instruction in P-12 and higher education initiatives. Her research focuses on the Science of Learning and the Science of Reading, educator preparation, structured literacy, professional learning, and translating research into practices that improve outcomes for educators and students.
