Bio
David Cook has been working in clinical inpatient and outpatient environments since 2009. His clinical focus is on the treatment of sex offenders and survivors of sexual trauma. Current research includes the impact of religiosity on the assessment and treatment of sexually deviant behaviors and the integration of multicultural and social justice competencies into clinical practice and supervision. He is working on various research projects with the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity (ISSI), a group of scholars from multiple academic institutions committed to furthering the understanding of sexual and gender identity.
He is a professional member of the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, the Christian Association of Psychological Studies, and a Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association committee member.
As an ordained minister, he planted and has served as the senior pastor at North Point Presbyterian Church since 2009.
