Bio
David Cook has worked in clinical inpatient and outpatient settings since 2009, with a focus on the treatment of sex offenders and survivors of sexual trauma. His current research explores the intersection of religiosity and mental health, the role the Church can play in addressing community mental health needs, and the integration of multicultural and social justice competencies into clinical practice and supervision.
He is an active research collaborator with the Institute for the Study of Sexual Identity (ISSI), a multi-institutional network of scholars dedicated to advancing the understanding of sexual and gender identity.
David holds professional memberships in the American Counseling Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and the Christian Association of Psychological Studies, and serves on a committee with the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselors Association.
An ordained minister, David also planted and has served as Senior Pastor of North Point Presbyterian Church since 2009.
