Alanna Haslam-Hyde

Alanna Haslam-Hyde recently received her PhD in Mathematics from Boston University, having previously earned her B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science from Bowdoin College. Dr. Haslam-Hyde’s research focuses on the application of mathematical modeling to biological, environmental, and social systems to better understand and care for our hurting and broken world. Her expertise is in the field of dynamical systems, and in her research, she applies both analytic and computational techniques to understand the mathematical structure and qualitative behavior of models of biological resilience and spatial pattern formation. In teaching, Dr. Haslam-Hyde is passionate about building supportive learning environments in which students actively build mathematical and statistical reasoning skills through collaborative exploration and engagement.
