Gordon College’s social studies minor will deepen your knowledge of significant periods in history, so you can have an impact on the next generation. From the Roman Empire to current American politics, the Civil Rights movement to globalization, you’ll be well-prepared to teach social studies and pass on the wisdom of the past to the leaders of the future.

This minor draws on classes from the Herschend School of Education and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, giving you a unique, interdisciplinary approach to social studies education.

Working in a museum gives me the opportunity to teach history in a nontraditional setting using collections and exhibits as educational tools. Through Gordon's history program I received the training and experience to begin my career in the museum field.
