Ways to Give

Christ is on the move at Gordon. Your gift to Gordon is not just an investment in an institution — it helps us shape the next generation of men and women, actively serving where God has called them.

  1. The fastest way to give to Gordon is to make a gift online through your credit card or debit card. This allows you to make a gift or pledge payment in a variety of ways. You may give a one time gift or recurring gift with the option for monthly installments.

  2. Mail checks to:

    Gordon College
    Development Office
    255 Grapevine Road
    Wenham, MA  01984-1813

Checks should be made payable to ‘Gordon College’, with a gift designation indicated on the memo line or an accompanying note.

  3. A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving vehicle sponsored by a public charity. Giving through a DAF is one of the most popular ways to support your favorite charities.

  4. Gordon accepts appreciated securities, which can offer a larger tax benefit than a cash gift, and wire transfers.

  5. If you are 70½ or older you may be eligible to make a gift to Gordon through a qualified charitable distribution (QCD) from your individual retirement account (IRA). To learn more, contact Dan White at [email protected].

  6. Tangible personal property

Donating a gift of tangible property is a very practical way to give the College. A tangible personal property gift is non-cash, related and useful to the mission of Gordon College, and is transferred voluntarily with no benefit received. Gifts of personal property that can be invaluable to the College include: equipment to be used in a chemistry lab; taxidermy and shell collections for biology students, a painting to be studied by art students; books to be read in the library; and musical instruments used by music majors.

Per IRS standards, Gordon College will not determine fair market value of the gift; however, once the property is received at the College, an official receipt will be sent to you, the donor. Depending on the substantiated value of the gift, Forms 1040 and 8283 may need to be filled out. We advise that you speak with your tax advisor about proper tax reporting.

    Real estate

Gifts of real estate can have special benefits for both donor and recipient. Donors who make gifts of real estate receive a charitable deduction for the gift’s full fair market value when held for more than one year. Gifts must meet certain criteria to be accepted, so if you are interested in donating real estate to Gordon College, please reach out to us at 978.867.4900 or [email protected] and we would be happy to answer any questions.

  7. Make your gift count more by taking advantage of your company’s matching gift program. Contact your organization to see if you qualify for this match.
