About:

Chris Underation has extensive professional and academic experience in the field of communication. As a professional he has worked in commercial radio as an on-air talent, he has been a reporter for newspapers and he has served as an advertising, marketing and public relations manager for regional and national non-profits.

In academics, Dr. Underation has served in many different capacities, ranging from student media advising to classroom teaching to administration. He has also won many awards for his teaching and co-curricular activities. While at The University of Findlay he won the David Allen Award for Teaching Excellence and, working with a team of academic colleagues, he is a two-time Best of Festival winner in the faculty audio competition of the Broadcast Education Association.

Dr. Underation has published and presented extensively in the field of communication. His work has been published in international, regional and state journals. He has presented at national and international conferences. He was selected to take part in an international panel with colleagues from four other nations to discuss the worldwide challenges of fake news.

Dr. Underation has a decade of experience as a part-time/bivocational pastor. He holds master’s degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Kent State University, a certificate from the Poynter Institute for Media Studies (where he served as a fellow), and a Ph.D. from Regent University.
