A native New Englander, Lisa Forkner graduated from Wheaton College (IL) in 1991 with a B.A. in Art History and Philosophy and went on to earn a B.A. in Design from Chicago’s Harrington Institute. As a young graduate, she served on the Wheaton College Alumni Board.
While working as a full-time mother, she became involved with Christian nonprofit leadership, sitting on the South Shore Christian Academy board, then on the Christian Camps and Conferences, Inc. board, where she still serves. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Spiritual Formation at Portland Seminary and a certificate in Spiritual Direction.
Lisa and Kent have been married for 30 years and have three adult children: Erica, who works as a mental health therapist in Chicago; Daniel, who works in financial technology in Colorado Springs; and Benett, who works full-time in Gordon's IT department. The Forkners attend South Shore Baptist Church in Hingham, Massachusetts.
