Wednesday, August 16 - Friday, August 18, 2023
International Student Orientation will begin on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, with move-in and dinner. The following days are filled with friendship-building activities, to ease the transition to college. We encourage all new, incoming international students to attend!
You will meet your new support system: the International Student Office (ISO) staff and other international students who will encourage you over the next several years.
You will learn how to access on-campus resources for international students, including SEVIS/F-1 Visa guidance, Academic Success Center (ASC) resources for ELL students (e.g., students for whom English is not their first language), and peer mentors in the Koinonia Mentorship Program.
There's a lot to learn about being an international student at Gordon College, and we can't wait for you to see all that is in store. Whether you are starting the semester on-campus or off-campus, you are part of our Gordon College international family. See you soon!
For incoming international students, there is generally a strong encouragement to do one of our pre-Orientation activities with Gordon College. This year (for the first time), we are giving you a choice of which "pre-Orientation" activity you want to do. International Student Orientation is no longer mandatory, if you do LA Vida Expedition instead, as your introduction to Gordon College. Both are great, and there is no wrong answer!
