Fall 2024 Orientation and Welcome Week

Spring/Summer 2024

From Deposit onward - Academic advising and GC101 (online pre-arrival portal); we help organize your tasks and understanding over the summer to make your arrival so much easier. Complete the modules, check off all your steps, and you can move right in with no hassles! Room and roommates, what to bring/not bring, about residence life, activities and wellness, health records and high school/college transcripts.

August 2024

Early arrivals - Fall athletes, International students, and returners from August La Vida expeditions; information sent from your sponsoring group

• Move-in Day - Fri Aug 23 - move in, parent orientation, meet your Orientation Crew (O-crew), discover campus
• Family Day - Sat Aug 24 - morning parent and family sessions, Celebration of Affirmation and Assurance, and then Orientation Kickoff in the afternoon and evening
• Settle and Sabbath Day - Sun Aug 25 - chance to worship and reflect, settle into your campus and pick from low-key activities and social experiences locally and on campus (transportation provided!)
• Academic Day - Mon Aug 26 - Welcome to Faith, Learning and Living at Gordon; academic sessions, meet-your-faculty, academic advising and schedule check, academic resource sessions for making a great start
• Campus Life and Wellness Day - Tue Aug 27 - Where Faith, Learning, and Living comes to life! Includes cookout on the Quad and annual Campus Jobs Connections fair
• First Day! - Wed Aug 28 - a day of firsts, your first breakfast on the first day of classes, and your first Chapel, your first syllabus and (probably) at least one first homework assignment!

First 30 days

Church Connections - Thu Aug 29 - meet and greet over 40 local churches from a variety of local congregations eager to make a connection with you for worship and ministry

First Weekend - Fri, Sat, Sun - Find something to do each day this weekend from the activities and opportunities we've planned to help continue feeling right at home and meeting new friends

Ye Olde Scottie Faire - Wed Sep 4 - All-out event with student clubs, organizations, missions, community engagement partners and Gordon programs to get involved in, with dinner Faire-style!
