The Orientation program is an important aid to the College transition for both students and their families. We've designed the Orientation schedule to give both you and your student the best start possible at Gordon College.
Family Activities During Orientation
Parents and families are invited to join us for Arrival Day and Family Day on August 18-19. Events for families will occur throughout the day on Friday and Saturday morning. Families will have free time on Saturday afternoon until students have their first student-only event at 4:30 p.m.
What will the weekend look like?
Students will sign up for a move-in time on Friday, August 18, between 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m.
We will have several sessions on Friday and Saturday for families to attend. You will be able to hear from President Hammond, meet faculty, learn about campus resources and more! We will end our time on Saturday with one of our favorite Orientation traditions: the Gathering of Affirmation and Assurance.
What is the Gathering of Affirmation of Assurance?
The Gathering of Affirmation and Assurance is a service of worship and commitment, honoring students and their families before God. This is a highlight for families, and we encourage all families to stay for the service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 19.
