In addition to housing career resources and event information, Handshake at Gordon serves as a centralized employer and job posting database for students to search for internship and employment opportunities.
CCI hosts and co-sponsors several events through the year that bring employers to campus to meet students, receive résumés and share information about opportunities or programs. Such events include:
In addition to these major events, our department also hosts smaller events which feature local employers who assist with résumé reviews, mock interviews, and other professional development workshops.
Located in Lane Student Center, the CCI Vendor Table is situated just inside the entrance nearest the Chapel (see the map of our campus). This table is usually reserved from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. or 4:30–6:00 p.m., when this location receives the highest amount of foot traffic. There is no charge to reserve this table.
Similar to reserving the Information Table, hosting an Information Session allows recruiters to meet with students and share opportunities and information with them in a relaxed atmosphere. Sessions are typically held in a classroom setting, which permits the recruiter to use technology setup for presentations that include slideshows, photos, or videos.
If an employer is wanting to come to campus to interview students, our department will arrange the details and manage the receipt of résumés for a scheduled interviewing day. This option is dependent on room availability, calendar availability, and responsiveness from students.
