Peer Advising

Sometimes it’s helpful to talk to another student who is also navigating the academic planning process. Peer advising is available for one-on-one meetings to map out your academic plan and address your questions.

The Role of the Peer Advisor

• Help advise and explore academic options.
• Demonstrate the use of academic planning tools.
• Assist students in putting together a course schedule that meets requirements and also satisfies the student's interests.
• Prepare students for advising appointments with faculty advisors.
• Assist students in creating four-year academic plans.
• Provide workshops for students on topics important to the advising process.
• Be available for walk-in or scheduled one on one appointments with students to help answer questions or provide assistance.
• Serve incoming freshman during the summer to help them academically prepare for their arrival to campus
