POST BACCALAUREATE INITIAL LICENSE IN MUSIC
Getting Started:
Students may begin taking courses and/or apply to the program at any point in the year. Schedules of upcoming courses are listed on the Initial License Course Schedules & Registration page.

Students need to have passed the MTEL (Massachusetts Test for Educator Licensure) in communication and literacy and in the applicable content area in music prior to their enrollment into the Post-Baccalaureate Initial License program. Visit the MTEL Website for more information.
An interview with the Director of Graduate Music Education is strongly recommended. During the interview process, a detailed undergraduate transcript review will be conducted to determine what, if any, program requirements can be waived. Dr. Sandra Doneski will advise and support you as you work to realize your professional goals. Please contact Kristen Harrington, Graduate Music Program Coordinator, to arrange for an appointment.
If you do not meet the minimum requirements for admission, or your admission materials are incomplete, you may be granted provisional status and take up to (9) hours of courses. After completing no more than nine (9) hours, you are expected to have matriculated by meeting all of the admissions requirements.
