What brought you to Gordon?

I fell in love with Gordon College’s Residence Life Program after serving for three years as an RA while a student at Gordon College. I loved my time as a student at Gordon and God has subsequently given me a passion to now join the administration in that tradition of being challenged to grow and develop as God’s people.

What is your favorite part about working in Residence Life?

Living with students. My wife, Leah, and I just love being able to share our home with our residents; eating meals, watching movies, playing games, and worshipping God.

What is your favorite thing about Gordon?

Gordon’s location. It is in my mind the nearly perfect balance of being near: the Ocean (5 min.), the greatest city in America – Boston (25 min.), and near amazing mountains and hiking in New Hampshire (1 hour). In addition, the immediate region of the North Shore is so beautiful and has happily been my home for nearly a decade now.

What do you enjoy doing during your free time??

My favorite hobbies include sports and music. Leah and I love to get out into the mountains for some hiking, to watch Boston sports (especially Patriots football), and I still like to join in some of the college REC-IM’s. I also love playing guitar and listening to folk and bluegrass music.

Favorite memory from College:

My time at Gordon College has left me with numerous hysterical and wonderful memories. Probably my favorite memory was from my freshman year in Evans Hall. I was asked to join a men’s Bible study group in my building. This Bible study totally changed how I viewed not only myself, but also God. It was through this group that I truly for the first time understood my dependence on community, the Church, and God. I developed a number of relationships that I will have for the rest of my life. It was the first place where I was invited to be authentic and open with people who cared about my soul. It’s a memory that is priceless.

What is your favorite hall event?

Being the NH hillbilly that I am – I love being out in the woods by a fire. So, my favorite hall events have to be Bonfire Worship Nights out at Gull Pond on Gordon’s Campus. These events are planned by the residence hall staff but the worship is generally led by the students/residents of the Hall. It is amazing to be out under the stars by the fire (usually with S’mores) with a hundred of your friends, roommates, and fellow residents worshipping God. I love it!
