Professional writing may be completed as either a concentration of the English major, or as a minor for non-majors.

Approval for Professional Writing Special Topics Courses

Special topics courses, whether taken at Gordon (e.g., COM 371) or at another institution (either online or in person), may be counted towards the professional writing minor (non-English majors) or concentration (English majors) with special permission from a student's advisor, the professional writing program director, and the department chair. To request approval for a course you have already taken or plan to take, use the Professional Writing Course Approval Form. If a consortium course appears on the list of preapproved courses for the professional writing program, you do not need to complete this form.
