About:

Dr. Moses New-Aaron joined Gordon College in 2023 with over ten years of experience in population health both in sub-Saharan Africa and the United States.  As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with the Ondo State Specialist Hospital and the Institute of Human Virology of Nigeria, he gained firsthand experience working with HIV-infected mothers via the Early Infant Diagnosis of HIV program. During his master’s degree, he studied public health issues in an HIV clinic located in Tanzania through a surveillance system he designed. This global health research endeavor unveiled to him the significance of alcohol in HIV pathogenesis in the antiretroviral therapy era. As a result, his NIH-funded pre-doctoral work focused on identifying the mechanisms of alcohol and HIV-induced hepatotoxicity and the potential therapeutic regimens needed to alleviate these effects. Dr. New-Aaron is well-published in high-impact journals and has presented his research findings at many conferences.
