Apply for Stafford Loans

Students who have been awarded a Stafford Loan must complete two steps to accept the loan. Both steps can be completed online on the Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid Website.

When you visit this website you will need to sign in using your FAFSA PIN. If you don’t know your FAFSA PIN you can retrieve it HERE

STEP 1 of 2: COMPLETE A MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE

  • Sign into the DOE Federal Student Aid Website
  • Select “Complete Master Promissory Note”
  • Select “Subsidized/Unsubsidized”
  • After completing your MPN please see Step 2 below.

Please be sure to read your promissory note and disclosures before signing.

When you have completed the MPN, you can print the note for your records. Gordon College will receive notification that your MPN is complete, and we'll be able to set up your loan disbursements.

STEP 2 of 2: COMPLETE THE STAFFORD LOAN ENTRANCE INTERVIEW
In order for your Stafford Loan funds to be disbursed to the school, the student is federally required to complete a Stafford Loan entrance interview. The interview consists of a series of questions that a student can complete online and is designed to ensure that the student understands the responsibilities and benefits of this loan. Once the student has completed the entrance interview, the school will receive notification and funds for that student's Stafford Loan will be released for disbursement.

After completing the MPN, select “Complete Entrance Counseling” on the  DOE Federal Student Aid Website.
