Connect to the Network

THE GORDON NETWORK
Each office, classroom and residence hall room is linked through a fiber optic Ethernet network. In addition, there are 20 wireless access points across campus. In order to connect to the network, your computer must have a Ethernet card installed. To connect to wireless (optional), you computer must have wireless capabilities.

Before you attempt to connect to the Gordon network, you must have Anti-virus installed and up to date and you must have all system updates installed and up to date.

In addition, your computer must meet the following minimum standards:

Windows:

  • At least 512MB of memory
  • CD Drive
  • Ethernet Card (required to connect to the campus network)
  • Windows XP Home or Professional

Macintosh:

  • MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Pro, PowerBook G4, iBook G4, eMac, G5, G4
  • At least 512MB of memory
  • CD drive
  • Mac OS X 10.3 or higher

25' Ethernet cables are available at the Gordon bookstore or can be purchased at any office or computer retailer.
