La Vida Center for Outdoor Education and Leadership

La Vida Center for Outdoor Education and Leadership houses six adventure programs. These unique programs provide experiential learning environments that foster character and leadership development to prepare you for life. For 40 years, La Vida has offered quality programs for churches, schools, and youth organizations in New England and beyond. Programs take place at Gordon, the landscape of Cape Ann, the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Adirondack State Park in New York. Facilities include:

  • A 30-element high and low ropes course in Wenham, MA
  • An indoor rock gym in Wenham, MA
  • A 75-acre expedition base camp in Lake Clear, NY
  • A circuit high course in Lake Clear, NY
  • Hundreds of acres of ponds, trails, and hills on Gordon's campus

Wilderness Adventures for Youth Groups and School Groups

Experience Adventure at Camp
La Vida Adventure Camp had another exciting summer of rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, mountain biking, ropes course elements, and team-building activities for 11–15 year-olds. The Adirondack Leadership program offers the "next step" for 15–18 year-olds. Read more...
 

Gordon College Outdoor Education Core Requirement
Gordon students have the opportunity to hike, canoe, or kayak on an two week expedition during the summer or participate in an 8-week challenge course class called Discovery on campus. Both programs fulfill this one of a kind core requirement.

 The La Vida Center's Adirondack Program is proud to partner with Gordon-Conwell Seminary's Compass program on a yearly basis. The two programs have worked together for over 10 years to provide high school students with leadership experiences.

Compass is a leadership development program for high school students featuring an intense month-long immersion component and an extended three-year mentoring component. They partner with churches, pastors, teachers, parents and other church leaders from across the country to identify youth for ministry, equip them for service and mentor them to maturity.
