Gordon's run-up to Thanksgiving was packed with athletic drama as teams powered through the ends of strong seasons.
Junior Brittany Hawkins (Hampstead, New Hampshire) scored twice and senior Anna Bury (Huntingtown, Maryland) posted eight saves to help Gordon's second-seeded Women's Field Hockey team claim the 2013 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Field Hockey Championship with a 3-1 decision November 9 over top-seeded University of New England on UNE's Big Blue Turf. It was the team's first conference crown in 12 years.

That same day at Endicott College in Beverly, heading into the Commonwealth Coast Championship (CCC) women's soccer match all signs signaled that this would be a match for the ages. Cross-town rivals? Check. Packed stadium with energetic fans from both fan bases? Check. Gordon Women's Soccer, the number three seed, had already pulled off one upset and was hungry for another. The championship match had all the drama one could imagine and lived up to its billing, but not the way Gordon fans were hoping for: Endicott edged Gordon by a 3-1 advantage in penalty kicks after a 0-0 tie through all regulation and overtime periods, clinching the CCC title. Five Gordon players were later named to the All-CCC team and three to the NSCAA All-New England team.

Just a week later, Men’s Soccer scored the only goal to lift Gordon to a 1-0 NCAA First Round victory over Eastern Connecticut State University—the team's first-ever win in an NCAA tournament setting. Men's Soccer won 11 of its last 12 games for a record-setting 20-3-0 season—but lost the final game of the regional bracket to the undefeated Amherst Lord Jeffs. Four Scots were named to the Eastern College Athletic Conference All-Star Team, six to the All-CCC team, and Derek Potteiger is the CCC Coach of the Year.
Women's Tennis returned to the playoffs after a three-year absence and posted its first playoff victory since 2006 to upset Curry College in the CCC quarterfinals 5–2, but fell to the Nichols Bison later in the semifinals to finish the season 9–7.
