Information for Faculty

Helping Students Find Their Calling

Faculty play an important role in the professional development of students—as mentors, advocates and coaches. As we work together in assisting our students in their calling and career, here are just a few ways to integrate career direction and professional development into your students’ experiences in, and outside of, the classroom.

Invite an industry professional to class

Invite a professional to share with your class about their industry, including what it takes to be successful in finding and maintaining employment, and how to develop specific, critical professional skills. Contact CCI to arrange.

Encourage student attendance at career events and workshops

Students revere their professors and know you want what is best for them. Please encourage students to connect with CCI for valuable workshops, events and resources to equip them for their future.

Participate in a career event

Many of you have had a career journey that students would love to hear about and learn from. Consider sharing more during a networking event, Calling and Career event or other workshops. Contact CCI for more information.

Internship & networking opportunities

Consider tapping your own professional network to help a student find a great internship to gain valuable experience. Perhaps it’s a matter of making a connection or co-hosting a networking event with one of your contacts and CCI. Contact CCI about getting involved.
