On March 16, Taylor University announced the appointment of President D. Michael Lindsay to serve as Taylor’s next president starting August 16, 2021. The Board of Trustees and the Gordon community congratulate Taylor on an inspired selection, and we wish President Lindsay and his family our very best in this new chapter. Taylor and Gordon share many connections. Both are founding members of the Christian College Consortium and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Dr. Harold Ockenga, Gordon’s fifth president, was a distinguished Taylor University alumnus. Over the years, our two institutions have partnered together in global education, public policy advocacy, and in setting the pace for faith-learning integration initiatives, to name just a few. President Lindsay remains committed to do all he can to serve the Gordon community between now and the end of his term on June 30 and to ensuring a smooth transition to his successor.
Our presidential search committee continues to be hard at work in selecting Gordon’s next president and is now starting the vetting process. We are encouraged by the level of interest and the caliber of candidates who remain in our search pool. As shared with the Gordon community last November, we expect to announce President Lindsay’s successor around Commencement in May, and in the meantime, we covet your prayers as the process continues.
