Sara Carson, Associate Conductor, teaches chorus and general music at the elementary and secondary levels in Waltham, MA, and is also music director of the annual McDevitt Middle School musical. She received her B.M. in Music Education and M.M.Ed. in Music Education from Gordon College.
Mrs. Carson has studied conducting with Dr. Ken Phillips and Dr. Michele Holt. During the 2010-2011 school year, she worked as a teaching fellow for the Boston Children's Chorus. She is presently Associate Conductor of the Community Children's Choir at Gordon College. In 2010 she received the Promising Young Music Educators Award from the Massachusetts Music Educators Association.
Mrs. Carson has served as a clinician at MMEA, NAfME Eastern Division, Feierabend Association for Music Education Conferences, and Gordon College's Graduate Program for Music Educators. She is a member of MMEA's All-State Treble Choir Committee, the Embracing the New Music Educator Initiative, and the Common Music Assessment Task Force. Under Mrs. Carson's direction, the McDevitt Middle School Choir was selected to appear at the MMEA All-State Conference in Boston in 2015, and at the ACDA Eastern Division Conference in February 2016.
