Russell has over 19 years of teaching on the undergraduate and graduate levels on-campus, hybrid, and online. Most recently, he taught at Geneva College and Hope International University. He has also done SME work for Pearson Education and the Christian Business Faculty Association. In conjunction with his teaching career, he worked for Crown Financial Ministries, teaching God’s principles of handling money. While working at Crown, he created a workbook for use in the classroom or online to teach Biblical stewardship. He also recently published a book to help students and their families avoid the bondage of school debt, “Say No! To College Debt”. He runs a blog on the topic of avoiding student debt.  

Before joining Crown, he was the CFO of English Language Institute/China and the CFO of the Anaheim Convention Center, giving him nonprofit and government experience. Before that, he did cost accounting for ITT Cannon Electric and co-founded a publishing and recording company based around the Christian music group, Children of the Day, of which he was a founding member.
