B.A. Salem State College
A.M. Middlebury College
D.A. SUNY/ Stony Brook

Richard Ladd joined the Gordon faculty after a long career at Ipswich High School and a brief retirement stint at North Shore Christian School. During his tenure, he encouraged students to learn to speak, read, write and understand Spanish and French; his classes are always different but at the same time very similar; his uncustomary lesson planning works. Richard is a past president of the Massachusetts Foreign Language Association and the American Association of Teachers of French (East Mass). He has spoken at a countless number of conferences in the US and beyond; he holds several awards among which are the MaFLA Distinguished Service Award (selected by peers throughout the state) and the Palmes Académiques from the French government for the advancement of the teaching of French). Among his publications he cites his most recent texts "Allons au-delà" and "Preparing for the French Language and Culture Examination," a set of AP test preparation materials.
