Professor Siaw teaches our service General Physics course and teaches all our introductory level physics labs. She also teaches PHY 261 & 262, Introductory Materials Science and its lab. She received her Ph.D. in Materials Science from UC Santa Barbara in 2013 and her research involved biomolecule-directed synthesis of zinc oxide thin films and their characterization. She was also Professor Lee’s student many moons ago.

A condensed matter physicist by training, Dr. Svitelskiy's research includes the propagation of acoustic waves through ferroelectric materials, as well as optical interferometry using NEMS sensors for mass spectrometry. He has also studied the elastic constant of materials in high magnetic fields and low temperatures.
A native of Ukraine, Professor Svitelskiy speaks Ukrainian, Russian, and English. He enjoys fishing in ... more ➔

Dr. Wang's research is in the area of experimental atomic, molecular, and optical physics, in particular exploring the quantum behavior of the building blocks of matter at nano-Kelvin temperatures. He completed his dissertation work at the MIT-Harvard Center for Ultracold Atoms under the supervision of Nobel laureate Prof. Wolfgang Ketterle. Prior to joining the Gordon faculty, Dr. Wang was responsible for scientific engagement at M Squared ... more ➔
