Karen is a curriculum specialist with expertise in Common Core literacy and assessment. Leveraging her 38 years of teaching experience and district leadership skills, she leads workshops for teachers and administrators on Internet-based literacy strategies and present-day assessment tools. In addition to teaching at Gordon College, she is an Instructor at Salem State University’s Collaborative for Teachers. She is also actively involved in Facing History and Ourselves, consulting with classroom teachers and facilitating workshops using the Facing History framework, as well as serving as a member of its Teacher Advisory Board. Karen also supports the online curriculum development work of CAST, an educational research organization in Wakefield, MA as a Teacher Advisory Council member.
