About:

Jonathan is a Senior Managing Director at East West Bank, the 40th largest bank in the US. He founded the Private Equity group there in 2011 as the sole employee and grew it into the largest industry specialty group at EWB, producing nearly $250m in profit for the Bank over 10 years.  It now has c. 30 professionals across 5 offices in the US and Greater China and produces approx. $50MM in profit for the Bank per annum.   

From 2006-2011, Jonathan was at Comerica Bank, where he grew a small portfolio of Private Equity clients in the eastern US by a factor of 8 while maintaining a career record of zero credit losses despite the cataclysm of 2008-2010, earning the position of Head of Private Equity.  From 2004-2006, Jonathan did venture lending for Atel Ventures and prior worked as a consultant for the UK government attracting inward investment there from the US.  From 1999-2004, Jonathan worked for Silicon Valley Bank, where he was one of 3 founding MDs for their asset management business, founded the Bank’s practice lending to large US corporates (now one of SVB’s 3 largest divisions), and managed a portfolio of venture-backed technology companies. 

From 1992-1998, Jonathan headed Barclays Bank PLC’s group in London managing a $7B portfolio of their largest relationships to US corporates.  From 1988-1992, he managed $2B in credit limits for Barclays Capital in NY and served as the industry analyst for Barclays’ $10B portfolios of high-tech and aerospace/defense companies. 

He is a member of MENSA and serves/has served on the boards of non-profits including RISE, the Triangle Arts Trust, and the Medfield Historical Commission.
