Dr. Noseworthy joined Gordon as a faculty member in August 2012 after completing her Ph.D. in plant biology at the University of New Hampshire. Her primary research interests include improving nutritional content in vegetables and its impact on human nutrition. She conducted a comprehensive study of carotenoid profiles of winter squash (Cucurbita spp.) and sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas) aimed at improving varieties of squash and sweet potato by selecting for higher carotenoid content. Her other interests include organic and sustainable food production, greenhouse plant propagation and plant biotechnology. Dr. Noseworthy also has additional duties centered around the non-majors class "The Scientific Enterprise." She enjoys teaching and mentoring students both in the classroom and the laboratory.
